چکیده

The masses of octet baryons are calculated by the method of QCD sum rules. Using generalized interpolating fields, three independent sets of QCD sum rules are derived which allow the extraction of low-lying N* states with spin-parity 1/2+, 1/2and 3/2in both the non-strange and strange channels. The predictive ability of the sum rules is examined by a Monte-Carlo based analysis procedure in which the three phenomenological parameters (mass, coupling, threshold) are treated as free parameters simultaneously. Realistic uncertainties in these parameters are obtained by simultaneously exploring all uncertainties in the QCD input parameters. Those sum rules with good predictive power are identified and their predictions are compared with experiment where available. QCD sum rule analysis of excited Λc mass parameter

The mass parameter of orbitally excited Λc baryons is calculated by using QCD sum rule in the framework of heavy quark effective theory. Two kinds of interpolating current for the excited heavy baryons are introduced. It is obtained that Λ̄ = 1.08 −0.104 GeV for the non-derivative current and Λ̄ = 1.06 +0.090 −0.107 GeV for the current with derivative. These results are consistent with experiment...

Predicative Ability of QCD Sum Rules for Decuplet Baryons

QCD sum rules for decuplet baryon two-point functions are investigated using a comprehensive Monte-Carlo based procedure. In this procedure, all uncertainties in the QCD input parameters are incorporated simultaneously, resulting in realistic estimates of the uncertainties in the extracted phenomenological parameters. Correlations between the QCD input parameters and the phenomenological parame...

Chirality and Reliability of Baryon QCD Sum Rules

The QCD sum-rule method has been widely used in studying various baryon properties. For a given problem, there are usually more than one sum rules and they do not work equally well. In this paper, we point out that chirality plays an important role in determining the reliability of a baryon sum rule. The contributions of positiveand negative-parity excited baryon states partially cancel each ot...

Heavy Quark – Light Diquark Approach to a Heavy Baryon in the Heavy Quark Symmetry Limit

. Abstract— The masses and distance configurations of the ground and excited states of heavy – charmed and bottom baryons J =1/2 ,3/2,containing a single heavy quark and a light diquark are studied within HQS limit of the HQLD sector of NRQCD framework. We find how the average distances between the heavy quark and the center of mass of the light diquark are smaller than the size of the light di...

1/mQ and 1/Nc Expansions for Excited Heavy Baryons with Light Quarks in the Spin-Flavor Symmetric Representation

The mass spectrum of the L = 1 orbitally excited heavy baryons with light quarks in the spin-flavor symmetric representation is studied by the 1/Nc expansion method in the framework of the heavy quark effective theory. The mixing effect from the baryons in the mixed representation is considered. The general pattern of the spectrum is predicted which will be verified by the experiments in the ne...
